Emancipation

Standard
    In the waterless bathtub

    in her street clothes

    rests Dot

    100

She thought this through

first laid down a towel for comfort

and will not be moved

    Calls for back up

    have been made

    and when her granddaughter arrives

    inquires why this

    now

Dot

annoyed by the fuss

answers with passionate vexation

“Can’t a girl

sit fully dressed

in the tub

in peace

if she wants to

anymore?”
