Inaugural Salon Z

March 24, 2011

Even though mighty strong Zombies were imbibed, salonites did not become intellectual zombies and instead shared great book suggestions, insights, and creative resources.

Sandy’s sweet and sours:

Tara’s treasures: David Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest

Jul’s junk and joy: Margaret Atwood’s Oryx and Crake

Super groovy launch.

My commitment is to figuring out the home for the virtual salon and writer’s circle and get that going (which I think I just did :-)).  WordPress, yes.  Peace and the printed word.

  1. I think Groucho should join Salon Z… “My favorite poem is the one that starts ‘Thirty days hath September’ because it actually tells you something.” — Groucho Marx

  2. We are pleased to invite you to submit a short story for the Enoch Pratt Free Library’s 2011 Pratt Contemporaries Fiction Storyteller Award. This writing competition was created expressly to promote the work of Maryland writers, to celebrate their accomplishments publicly, and to make a difference in the lives of these artists as they continue to build their careers. The first place winner will be published in the August 2011 issue of Urbanite magazine. Deadline for Entry: June 15, 2011
